Poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s amount is equal to your beginning ante, which means that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet is the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, including an amount in accordance with the initial bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays cash equal to your ante and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
