Poker has become globally famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course every one of the other players are given five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes directly to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum equal to the original bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The house pays out chips equal to your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
