In hold’em, the initial step is to get the card game started, and for this the players put out a set total of cash. ‘Posting the blinds’ is the frequently used term for this play. In the next step, the croupier shuffles the cards and deals two cards face down to all players. A normal deck of fifty two cards is used in the deal. Then there is the initial sequence of betting. This round is usually referred to as a "pre-flop".
Following the 1st wagering sequence, the top card of the deck is discarded. This thrown away card is known as the "burn card", and this is performed to make sure that there is no treachery. The next three cards are then revealed face up on the table. These cards are referred to as ‘the flop’. Now follows a 2nd sequence of betting, after which the dealer tosses out an additional card and turns over 1 more card onto the poker table. After this, participants can utilize the 6th card to form a 5card poker hand.
An additional round of wagering follows, and in a number of types of games, here is where the bet amount increases. There is an additional round of burning a card, and a last deal of a card face-up on the poker table. This is known as the "river". Gamblers can now use any of the 5 cards on the table, or the two cards in their pocket, to form a five-card poker hand.
To wrap it up there’s another sequence of wagering. Then, all the players remaining start to show their hands. This is called the "showdown". Obviously, the player who shows the highest hand wins. When players have even hands a splitting of the pot is considered.
