Seems like most individuals are constantly talking about pre-flop method, so I wanted to speak a bit about how I bet on immediately after the flop. Possibly I can support others, or perhaps they’ve got advice to enhance my play.
I imagine that 2 of the most significant plays right after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive bet. That is because these are the plays you make once you havent hit a hand except you could have a good drawing hand. Its easy to play a hand once you flop a monster. Except I think that these 2 are the finest ways to wager on a drawing. Each one is wagered depending on you challenger(s) and your postion. So here’s how I play it, so tell me what you think.
Early Location – Tight Opponents:
A semi-bluff works fairly properly in this position. Arrive out gambling and if a tight player did not hit a hand he will most likely lay down, and if he is unsure you may perhaps have a call. Except watch out, if that tight player comes back more than the best it might be time to have away.
Early Placement – Loose Competitors
That is were I like to complete a defensive bet. Choose how many chips you are willing to risk on your draw and wager. This is usually a much smaller bet than normal. It’s been my encounter that the loose player will usually just call a wager rather than re-raise. However, when you check to them, theyre additional likely to throw in much more chips than your willing to pay.
Late Position – Tight Competitors
That is the finest time to complete a semi-bluff, especially if most of the table checks. If that’s the case you will probaly pick up the pot now. If a player prior to has wager, you could have to decide if he has a hand or not. If not, then reraise and he’ll possibly go away since he was trying to steal the pot. Should you believe he does, well then it’s time to determine your odds, and decide if the pot odds are worth the call.
Late Location – Loose Opponents
This one is often a bit tricky, simply because it is tougher to put a loose gambler on a hand. And if your in late place against loose player, odds are they have already bet. That is were I usually choose to take a chance and arrive back more than the best of them and hope they do not call, and if they do, nicely then its time to gamble. Odds are though even a loose gambler will go away should you arrive back strong enough.
Remember though that these are moves I only generate immediately after the flop comes and I have a decent drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Maybe 4 to the flush or the open ended straight, for example.
