Have you seen the new PokerPro hold’em poker tables? The very first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about 2 weeks ago when I took a short getaway with my wife to the WinStar Gambling den in Oklahoma.

As I waited for my name to be called at the live tables, I observed how the other persons around the PokerPro tables interface with each other. It was pretty interesting to say the very least. Because the poker table was controlled by a computer, there were no poker chips to do any chip hints, no cards to shuffle and the actual live encounter was stale. Maybe I was the only one that spotted this, except I did notice the gamblers at the table had a dull quality to them. The cause of this might be because there was no human interaction with the dealer, the atmosphere was relatively boring and the gamblers looked bored. It was nearly as if I was viewing a live version of an internet based hold em poker room instead of being seated with hot bodied humans. It was a tiny bit spooky and I kept flashing back to a show of ST:TNG and the holodeck broke down.

Since the waiting time for the stay tables was over an hour, I decided to see how the casino game action was and to experience this new texas hold’em poker gaming technology. Right after playing a couple of hands, I truly felt like I was playing at home. The lack of activity on the table was the primary reason. I like to shuffle and stack my chips, and mix my cards around. None of those items are feasible at these computer tables.

An additional thing I noticed was how the computer dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I wagered a lot of hands on the PokerPro table and discovered that the play was a whole lot like an online texas hold’em poker website. That might have been just a coincidence, but I discovered it to be very odd.

Following playing a couple of rounds with this "unique hold’em poker technology", I determined that the PokerPro tables had been not for me. I’m better off playing hold em poker on the net at home and not travel the distance. If WinStar Betting house had been to have rid of the live poker tables, I think they’d loose a lot of players.
