Mrs. Duke mightn’t have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she remains one of the most powerful poker players at the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a big win at the tournament, Annie goes back home to be "mom" to her 4 kids. Annie was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker competitors. If you don’t accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has succeeded at her share of hard tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both competitors that have the capability to win the huge money and do so with a smile.
Annie Duke is a tough player at any table because she is a natural poker player, but it is a bit more than just being great at the game. Mrs. Duke is extremely smart and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in Psychology and English.
When you sit across from Annie at the table you know Annie is there to compete in the game and she begins "summing" you up from the time you join the poker table. If you can not wager like a Champion, then do not bother.
Acquiring over 3 million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie Duke became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his skills and become a power at the tables.
You may glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will notice her on the tv and you may even compete against her in a web-based poker game, but do not anticipate a simple win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
